Who we are

In short: Listerpedia is run by Business Game Changer Magazine, a sole trader based in France. We are responsible for your data.

Listerpedia (listerpedia.com) is published by Business Game Changer Magazine, a sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) based in France. For data protection purposes we are the data controller, which means we decide how and why your personal data is used.

You can contact us about anything in this policy at wearegamechangers [at] outlook.com.

What we collect, and why

In short: Basic technical data when you visit, analytics only if you agree, and whatever you choose to send us in a comment or email.

When you visit any page

Like every website, our server automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Our host, DreamHost, keeps these server logs to keep the site secure and working. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

If you accept analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand which lists people read, roughly where readers come from (country or city level), which device they use and how they found us. This helps us decide what to write next. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

If you leave a comment

We collect the name, email address and website you enter, your comment, your IP address and your browser details (to help catch spam). Your email address is never shown publicly. If profile pictures are switched on, WordPress may send a scrambled version of your email (a hash) to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a comment section, and your choice to take part.

If you email us or use our contact page

Our contact page opens your own email app, so your message goes straight from you to us. We receive your name, email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.

If you join a newsletter

If we launch a newsletter, we will collect your email address only when you sign up, name the provider we use in this policy, and include an unsubscribe link in every email. Legal basis: your consent.

Reading counts

Our site counts how many times each list is read so we can show a “Most read” chart. The count is a single number per list and is not linked to you.

Cookies and similar technology

In short: Analytics cookies only after you say yes. A few small, harmless ones help comments and our counter work.

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. Analytics cookies are only placed after you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on our site or by clearing cookies in your browser. Saying no does not stop you using any part of Listerpedia.

Who we share it with

In short: Only the services that keep the site running. We never sell or rent personal data.

  • DreamHost hosts our website and stores its data, including comments and server logs.
  • Google provides Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Automattic (Gravatar) may receive a scrambled version of a commenter’s email address if profile pictures are shown.
  • Authorities, only if the law requires us to share information.

Each of these services handles data under its own privacy terms and data protection agreements. We never sell, rent or trade personal data.

Data outside Europe

In short: Some of our providers are in the USA. Your data is protected by approved legal safeguards.

DreamHost and Google are based in the United States, so some data may be processed there. Where this happens, it is protected by the safeguards required by European law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified companies or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

In short: Only as long as we need it, then it is deleted.

  • Emails and messages: up to 3 years after our last exchange, then deleted.
  • Comments: for as long as the comment is published. Ask us and we will remove it.
  • Analytics data: up to 14 months, then automatically deleted by Google.
  • Server logs: kept by DreamHost for a short period for security, then deleted.

Your rights, and how to use them

In short: You can see, fix, delete or take away your data, and object to how we use it. Tap a right to email us.

Under the GDPR and French law you have the following rights. Tap any of them to open an email with your request ready to go. We will reply within one month.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or the authority in the country where you live.

Children

In short: Listerpedia is not aimed at children under 15.

Our site is meant for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 15. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Keeping it safe

In short: Encrypted connections, up-to-date software and as little data as possible.

Our site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), we keep WordPress and its plugins up to date, and only the site owner can access the data we hold. No website can promise perfect security, but collecting as little as possible is our best protection, and that is exactly what we do.

Ads and affiliate links

In short: We do not run ads or affiliate links today. If that changes, you will hear about it here first.

We may show advertising or use affiliate links in the future. Before we do, we will update this policy to name the companies involved, ask for your consent where the law requires it, and clearly label affiliate links. See our Terms for how this affects our rankings (it never decides them).

Changes to this policy

In short: If anything important changes, we will update the date at the top and tell you clearly.

We may update this policy when our site or the law changes. The date at the top always shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, for example a new advertising partner, we will highlight it on the site.

This version was last updated on 17 October 2026.
